Wherever in the world movement is involved, rolling and plain bearings are indispensable. This applies to general mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, but above all to renewable energies.
Bearings play a crucial role in the functionality, efficiency and service life of the entire machine or plant. In order for them to fulfil this function, the bearings themselves must be correctly selected and dimensioned, but the bearing environment must also be optimally designed. This requires a constant increase in expertise (e.g. with regard to bearing air, preload, lubrication, sealing design, corrosion protection, condition monitoring, damage analyses…), which is based on practical experience and scientific findings.
In order to promote this knowledge building and the exchange of experience between science and industry, the FVA | Forschungsvereinigung Antriebstechnik e.V. has launched the #BEARINGWORLD.
In a lecture, Georg Martin presented our impedance sensor technology as an alternative to vibration measurement in damage analysis. In addition, HCP Sense is also represented at the associated trade fair with a stand.
We are exceptionally pleased that the Technical University Darmstadt has such a strong presence, with three areas of expertise:
Institute for Product Development and Machine Elements represented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Eckhard Kirchner, Anatoly Zaiat as well as us as a spin-off, Institut für Produktionsmanagement, Technologie und Werkzeugmaschinen – PTW represented by Christiane Melzer, and the Institute for Electrical Energy Conversion represented by Omid Safdarzadeh.
